Last night (12Jun17) I had the pleasure of hosting Mr Ian Riggs of Brokenwood (Managing Director & Chief Winemaker) for dinner at Sing Yin Restaurant which is part of the W Hotel Hong Kong.
Despite a T8 Typhoon coming down on Hong Kong all of my guests of honour including David Parkin (Chairman of the Wine Association) from KCC, Peter Hildebrand (GM W Hotel), Hun-Li Wan (GM AAPC) and Vickey, Franco Lam (Director), Navin (MyWineBarr Operations), Wilson Yeo (Director of Photography) and Scott Mitchell (Brokenwood Ambassador – Asia) made it through the maelstrom.
We had a wonderful 6 course dinner and was hosted by Roger, Lavin and their professional team, and enjoyed 13 of the best Brokenwood wines throughout the journey. We enjoyed, the usual Cricket Pitch Red and White, as well as, the 8 Rows Sparkling Wine, Hunter Valley Rose 2015, Indigo Chardonnay, Hunter Valley Semillon 2014, Beechworth Pinot Noir 2013, Hunter Valley Shiraz 2013, McLaren Vale Wade Block 2 Shiraz 2011, Hunter Valley Graveyard Shiraz 2013, Sticky Wicket Botrytis Semillon 2013 and topped it off with the NV Tawny Port.
I look forward to hosting another wine tasting again in the near future.
